I was taught by an old boss of mine that life didn't present problems, only 'challenges'. (Do inverted comma sign with 2 fingers on each hand). Since then I have not only thought of the word 'challenge' in inverted commas, and shied away from such 'challenges' wherever possible! However, I have come across a much more positive and enjoyable challenge...

Today's challenge- Drawer. Tidy or not. So here's both. Firstly my lovely and much coveted cutlery drawer in our new(ish) kitchen. Look at the grain; feel the curves. See the gleam of those unused but essential utensils. (Whoever uses a pastry crimper?)
But of course every silver lining has a cloud. Here is 'the drawer'. Final resting ground of total tat and life's bare essentials that have no other home. The Bits and the Bobs- the beleagred vagrants of modern life.
The worst thing is the drawer (heavy, very) falls out of the sideboard every time it's opened. One day it will Have To Go. A quick stock-take of its contents....
Dog Poo Bags; Dog biscuits: Jumping Jacks; unidentifiable keys; arms of broken sunglasses; playing cards separated from the pack: batteries; unexposed rolls of fim- and then there's a kind of lower layer- the 'bottom feeders' of the drawer underworld- postage stamps; balls of blu-tac; marbles and fluff, lots of fluff. One day...
